Sibonelo Myeni “Blendor” is a musician from Ingwavuma in the northern part of KwaZulu Natal. He learned to play piano from his father at an early age before enrolling at the University of Zululand in 2003 to pursue formal music education. That is where he received formal music education. After his teaching job contract ended, Blendor went to KCAP in 2008 to learn Sound Engineering and ended up working at their studios. This gave him an opportunity to work in the studio with most established artists and sound engineers including, but not limited to: Fundile Mdingi, Ngane, Malcolm Nhleko, Sifiso Ncwane, Avante, Malini, Malehloka Hlalele, Mlindo The Vocalist and Thokozani Langa. He travelled to Bremen, Germany in 2009 as part of the South African artists delegate to partake in a cultural exchange program. In 2010 he won first place in a remix competition hosted by Creative Cape Town and got an opportunity to produce his music at Rebull Studios in Cape Town under the mentorship of Richard Rumney also known as “Maramza”. He worked with Mlindo The Vocalist after securing a contract at Ushaka Marine to perform there in 2017-2018. Blendor released his debut album titled Umacashelana which was released digitally in all major online music stores, in October 2017. He is currently promoting this album under his independent label called Awe Music Production. His music has been described as soulful, chilled, and blurs the lines between genres to form a unique pop style. It is a colourful blend of acoustic and electronic instruments. On 14 February 2020, he released his single titled Iskhokho and Mina Nawe on 20 August of the same year. Blendor has displayed unparalleled versatility in his album titled 'Uswidi' In 2022. He released 3 singles in the same year: R.I.P, Akasathumeki, and I Will Survive. Blendor currently resides in Myanmar (Burma), in the city of Mawlamyine. His latest single Imoto featuring Damition is out now on all music streaming platforms.
